Lowes Court Gallery and Tourist Information Centre is located in the picturesque market town of Egremont in the heart of West Cumbria. For over forty years we have supported the work of artists and craftspeople living and working primarily in the Egremont area and in West Cumbria, but also more widely in Cumbria and neighbouring counties.
In 1973, the Association sensitively restored the oldest building in the Main Street, creating a gallery and shop, which continues to be a highlight of the town today. The Gallery helps local artists to develop, show and sell to a local audience and to visitors, which it welcomes to the town, and for whom it provides a tourist information service.
The Gallery, which is run by a part time manager and supported by team of dedicated local volunteers, has two main aims:
To support local artists and craftspeople from the area and the county of Cumbria and to provide a Tourist Information service in support of local business.
We endeavour to be the first stop for residents and visitors to West Cumbria seeking gifts, artworks, or tourist information. We pride ourselves in helping others and contributing to the local economy.
If you are visiting West Cumbria or the Western Lakes - you need to visit us.
